Employee Spotlight: Julie Ruddle Reich

This week, we’re excited to spotlight Julie, our Senior Metals Analyst and Davis & Brown employee of 20 years! Julie is pictured here with one of our two ICP-OES (Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry) instruments, which detect the presence of metals such as lead, chromium, copper, and zinc in levels as low as 5 parts per billion! She also performs TCLP (Toxicity Characteristic Leachate Procedure) analysis, which is an extraction procedure that mimics the ability of landfill leachate to extract certain toxic compounds from the waste present. This aids in determining if environmentally hazardous elements are present in waste samples.

Julie enjoys yoga and game nights with Todd Norris and her two sons, Kyle and Dylan. Her special talents include crocheting, always keeping spirits high in the lab, and losing her pipet bulb at least once a day 😉.
